The babysitter said Emma is a smart girl. 3 month ago, she was watching two 2 -3 years girls talking about some toys and played it. After they dropped it off, she picked it up and played it herself well. The babysitter said she learns things very fast and play very well just like two years old kids.
A funny case….. Emma and I dressed up were going out, she pointed the desk that I usually I put my glasses on and saying “en.. en… en…” Oh my god, she was reminding me to take my glasses! I gave her a big hug and kiss. She smiled :)
Yesterday, we had this year's first snow - 15 cm snow. Emma was exited about the snow but she was a little fraid of step on the snow although mommy put her on a snow boots.

Emma climbed stair from main floor to the 2nd floor by herself yesterday. She was very excited about it.

A very important week in Emma’s grow progress
The last week while Daddy was away, Emma made a huge progress on Walking and Talking. We noted the huge change during this Thanksgiving long weekend.
She walked well and started talking a lot! She gets very busy to visit every corner in her bedroom and in the house. Emma keep talking to mommy and daddy with your own word. And you are even listening to our talking very carefully. The best work you like and always wants to say is still “NO”.
Anyway, Emma now looks really like a toddler. You kept us more busier but you brought us more fun!

Daddy’s away this week - Oct. 5, 2009
Daddy went to Boston for a week training. Mommy will be with Emma whole this week!
Well, the first date is Sunday. Emma kept mommy busy. You are doing well in the day time but you may realized daddy is not in home. You were a little separation anxious. You don’t want to go to sleep. Mommy had to hold you for about 2 hours. And daddy called in, you held the phone and say “ba ba” very clearly. And you woke up and cried when mommy was just going to the bed. So mommy has to bring you to mommy’s bed. Not sure why but you were up for a while with a little cranky.
When you wake up in the morning, you looked at Daddy’s pillow and said “ba ba” and doesn’t want to get out the bed. When mommy packed the lunch in lunch bags, you asked mommy bring you daddy’s lunch bag, and kept playing it and said “ba ba”. You are so sweet and cute! Daddy will love you even more!

Emma was sick for about a week after Grandma went home
Emma’s face has a couple of broken red dots. The doctors said it is bacterial infections and he prescribed some cream to put on her face. However a few days later, Emma looks so tired and had fever for 2-3 days, and then we saw the doctor again. There were some ear infection too.
It is the first that Emma doesn’t want eat, drink or play. You just want to be held all the time. There is a white dot inside of your lip, some red dots on the tongue, and there are 3 new broken red dots on the face. Well, the doctor said it bacterial infections and it is common for babies.
This was the first time Daddy and Mommy have to take time off to look after Emma after grandma went home. Till last Friday 9/25, Emma looks covered and went to the daycare. It is hard for parents when the baby is sick. Fortunately you are covered soon. Now, we see your smiling again!

Emma's 2nd swimming courses session
Emma start swimming course since 9/19. Every Saturday we go swimming together.
Emma still like watching everything around her instead of enjoying the swimming. It takes more time to change you than the swimming. Well, it is a good experience for you Emma.

The grandma has gone home today
The grandma has gone home today. We went to the airport together to see her off. It always happy to pick people up and sad to see people leave.
One and half year past very quickly, it was a midnight when grandma arrived home in April 5th, 2008. Emma is less than a month to be born. Thinking about from your new born till now, you have been able to call "lao lao" and say a lots of words, and you are almost walking. It just so much going on. We had some great time and we also had some fight. However mom is still a mom.
Anyway, I believe grandma had a great time with Emma and it was a beautiful memory for Emma and grandma.
There are another 7 hours, grandma should be in home. All the best to her. Emma will miss the grandma.

Emma is her 17th month now. She is a very happy girl. Basically she eats well, sleeps well and plays well. My mom is leaving next Sunday. She has been living with us for a year and half. It is a great help especially in the very early stage. She did enjoy the time with Emma but she missed those traditional Chinese food. Same as Emma, she loves grandma more than loves mommy. I hope I can have a part time job and then I can spend more time with her in the day time. However when I sit in the office with the busy work, I hardly have time to think too much about Emma. I know that is too bad. After my mom's left, Emma will change from part time to day time with the babysitter (the people looks after the kids in her house.) So far, she is doing well there. She had a good time with other kids and learned a lot of stuff too. Sometime I feel guilty that I only spend so little time with her in the week days.
Are you still working in the evening time? It is amazing that you and Dave plus occasional your parents' help can look after Liam and Lydia very well! And get your work done. Dave even will finish his MBA courses soon!
Both life and work keep me very busy. Chun's working time is better than mine, so he drop off and pick up Emma. When my mom is here, the supper is almost ready when we got home. It is very nice :) And then I feed Emma and we have a quick supper done. Sometime we play a little time Emma before I bath her. Usually I start give her a cup of milk around 8:00pm, and then brush her teeth. I still hold and rock her to sleep every night. I just love to do it! Usually I will have a little own time after 8:30 or 9:00pm. Off course, shorltly after it is my bed time already! I know after my mom left, we will be more strugle with the supper time. Well, everyone has to get over it I guess.
We had a week vacation in Prince Edward Island, which is only about 3 and half hours driving. It was a nice cottage and very close to the beach. We had a good time to relax there. We also had a couple of day trip in the province to enjoy the beautiful summer time.

Emma in Sept. 2009 - the 17th Month!
Not many hot day this summer and the fall is coming already. The summer seems always short.
Mommy was crazy busy in the work during Aug. with many people on vacation. However mommy want to save some vacation time to the next year. So not too many vacation days this summer.
Emma has made a lot of progress recently – but still not walking independently yet.
Language: Ma Ma, Ba Ba (says very well and very often), what’s this, what’s that, NO, This is… That is….
If I ask how does dog, cat, cow, bird, sheep, chicken, craw, duck sound, Emma will do it
Love the song - Old Macdonald, sing “yi ya yi ya you” all the time.
Body language: know how to say if she wants more, dancing with Old Macdonald song, if I ask how to sleep, sneeze, haxi, she will express it. So cute! When Emma watch the TV Old Macdonald song, she will sing and dance with it.
Eat: love plain rice, like all main food and veggie and fruit, yogurt. Twice a day milk. Doesn’t like meat very much.
Walk: Not very interested in walking yet. Emma can walk with two people hold her hands.
Potty: Emma sits on the potty with eating the cereal. However only had twice success with 1 pee and 1 poop J Still early. No worry.
Emma does like Granma very much. So does Granma. She is leaving in a week. I can see she loves Emma very much and will be sad to leave Emma soon.

The first successful potty training
Mommy and Daddy bought you a little potty a week ago. We think it maybe still early but we can let you try. Because you are always curious to see Grandma goes to the washroom and you kind of understand what is the washroom.
You likes playing this new "toy" and try to put your feet into the hole. You will sit there and play. Mommy put you sit there in the morning some time and give you a little cereal while you sit there. As usally you will have poop while you are eating. Anyway, nothing happen in the first week.
This morning, grandma is sitting beside you and encourage your first bowl movement. Finally, not too long time, we heard the music! We clap the hands for you to cheer off. You looked at us feels like what is going on? And then, the smell coming :)
Good girl! Congratulations for your first potty training- WELL DONE!

Emma's progress in June, 2009
Emma,
It has been so busy since June. JDIL got a new west coast customer onboard, so we have to temporally rotate the evening shift with three people. Well, from 12:00 to 8:30pm, the good part of it is mommy doesn't has to be too rush in the morning and can play with Emma a little bit in the morning if you don't go to the babysitter. The bad thing is mommy can't see when I return the home in the night.
We had a four days trip in Prince Edward Island in the middle of June. We had two good weather and two bad weather. It was the first time for Emma see the beach. We lived in a nice cottage. We had the fresh lobster and barbuque. Emma was so excited in the new place. You even don't want to go to bed early in the evening.
Emma made a lot of progress in the month. You are crawling really well, you can start pulling up with holding on some funiture, you can walk with pushing the corrugated box, you like laughing, playing with us, you understand more and more what we are talking, you will pinch your nose when we say "chou chou" or point to the washroom toliet, you will pat your little belly if we say "pai pai xiao du pi".
You looks more and more pretty now. I can see your little depot on your right face, which is so cute.
You still don't like rice cereal but you like every food we have.
Okay Mommy is going to back to work now.

Emma like have the teeth brushed every day
Every evening after mommy feeding your milk, you will be drowsy but still looks like waiting on something. When you see mommy take toothpaste and brush, you will sit up right way and open the mouth waiting for mommy brushing your teeth. You cooperate with mommy so well that make teeth brushed easily. After that, you will be falling sleep very soon. It is so cute!

Tomorrow is mommy's birthday
Tomorrow is mommy's birthday!
I still remember one year ago that mommy was so excited in celebrating the birthday after having you in a month. It just like happened in yesterday.
Now mommy has to deal with the daily busy work outside and have only so little time with you before you go to the bed. The current job took too much time and energy. Mommy really hope will find a better career that can balance the work and life at the same time. Will work it!
Anyway, mommy will be 35 years old tomorrow. It is hard to believe mommy is almost mid 30 person!

Crawliing and other changes
Emma has been crawling for about two weeks but she is tummy down instead of knee down when she is crawling. You are moving faster and faster now. You love to exploring more new stuff now. You are not satisfied with staying in the family room anymore. You like to explore the kitchen, dining room, living room with any cabinet, garbage bin, papers.
You suddenly know how to change from the tummy position to sitting up, and then you change to tummy position. You love to practicing it. Even in the night, when you cry, we have to brought you to mommy's bed. You still keep practicing this from tummy to sit up, to tummy, and lay down, which made mommy hard to sleep well:(
You can pull the crib (wei lan) from sit to stand up! It is a big improvement. And you love to sit on the mattes and bump by yourself. You even cry when mommy take you out from the crib to take bath.
You understand a lots of word when we talk to you:
you response when we call your name - Emma.
You will turn the head to reach the milk when mommy ask you if you want milk.
You will clap hands, wave bye-bye and express thanks,

Emma's first hair cut
Since we have took your one year old portray photo. We decide to have your first hair cut.
After you fallen sleep in mommy's arm, grandma and mommy work together have your first hair cut. It is just a little bit cut for the band. It is getting very long and almost touch your eyes.
Mommy has collect all your hair (tai mao), which is the original hair since you were born. So it will be a little thing saved in your personal folder for you and mommy's memory in the future!

You are one year old now! Congratulations!
Daddy, Mommy and Grandma brought you a birthday cake and your first birthday candle! You looked at the flame of the candle and start smiling and crying. Although you were a little tire after whole's with babysitter. You had a good mood for your birthday party! We took some pictures for you.

Tomorrow is your first birthday!
Mommy still clearly remember that one year ago in tonight ...... almost at right now, mommy started contraction and daddy and mommy went to the hospital in the same night. And the next day at 17:13hrs you came to this beautiful world.
A year is almost past, you have been grown up such a lovely girl! Mommy is very proud for you! There are so many beautiful memories during the first year with 7/24 hours that we spent together. We will celebrate for you together with grandma.

This letter is a start of a journey. I will write a letter to you on your every birthday until you reach 18 years old. I will learn and work hard to be a good father as you grow. I hope you to become:

Frankly speaking, I am still learning how to live a good life and how to be more competent at workplace at age 36. Although everyday there are kinds of things people are dealing with, only a few events that happened to them or a few choices that they made affect their whole life. To be specific, the following few things happened to me had an fundamental impact in my life.
* When I was around 10 years old, I was left in an apartment alone in an evening. My parents locked the door from outside before they left. In the evening, there was a comedy movie played at the outdoor movie theater that was just behind the apartment building. I really wanted to watch the movie and sit on the window thinking to jump off and get out. The apartment was on the second floor, probably 6 meters above ground. And there were some bushes on the ground right below the window. At the end, I figured it was too risky to jump off the window at that height. I went back to the room, and did some other things until my parents came back.
* I got poor scores in the junior high school entrance exams. I could not qualify any schools that I applied. I had to accept to be assigned to a school that had not good reputation. When I started my days in the junior high, I was motivated. I started to work hard, be self-discipline, and take the pressure. I was always the top students in the class during the 3 years at the junior high. In the high school entrance exams, I achieved pretty good scores and entered one of the top high schools in Beijing.
* I picked Electrical Engineering as my major when I was in university. Electrical engineering and computer engineering were the only engineering majors that I figured I could handle well and I might have interests in.
* Your mom and I got married. Marriage means share the happiness and hardness with each other, and respect each other.
* Your mom and I moved from China to Canada to start a new life. I still could not answer the question very well, "why you moved to Canada?". But I started to enjoy the life style here. At least we could have a not rich but good quality life. We could spend more time with and pay more attention on you.
* I got a job in the data network field in 2005. This will probably be the profession I will keep doing until my retirement. I quite enjoy what I am doing.
I sincerely hope you have a better life than I have.
What do I want from you? Hmm... I want you look at me and call me "ba ba". ;-)

The 4th day mommy back to the work
Today is the 4th day that mommy start working. With one person is off this week, mommy has to pick up a lot of business right away. However mommy made it! You were with grandam in the first two days and yesterday (April,29 - Wednesday - was mommy's due day last year) was the first day you were with babysitter! I was told you cried some in the morning and only had 30 minutes sleep. You were tired. You had almost three hours sleep in the afternoon. Mommy miss you very much in the work. It is only about 2 - 3 hours that I can see you in the week days. I know it is hard to separated with you for so long in the day.
Tommow is your first birthday. We will celabrite it together with grandma! Okay, mommy has to back to work now.

Emma finished the last bottle of frozen breast milk
Yesterday - April 25th, 2009, Saturday, Emma finished the last bottle of frozen breast milk. Mommy worked very hard to froze all these about 44 bottle (not all full) of breast milk. Mommy just want to let you have more nutrition after the weaning. Now, tomorrow, mommy is going back to the work.
Mommy has finished the first year's responsibility pretty well. Mommy grew up from a new mom to an experienced mommy! You had a full year breast feeding and had a pretty healthy first year. Mommy is very happy for you!

Mommy's parental leave is finished
Friday, April 24 - Mommy's parental leave is officially finished! It was such a wonderful year with you - Emma. You did changed our life and brought a lot fun to us!
Just quick review the year in home with Emma:
1st month - May: Busy with the nursing,no good sleep in the night, adjusting to the new life, mommy and Emma have afternoon nap together
2nd month - June: Busy with the nursing, no good sleep in the night, the milk supply improved, mommy and Emma have afternoon nap together
3rd month - July: joined the gym club, enjoyed the weather, mommy and Emma have afternoon nap together
4th month - August: have a little routine set up, enjoyed the weather
5th month - September: Daddy's K-State issue, Emma has routine set up. Emma started swimming
6th month - October: Grandma had tour in eastern Canada. Decided to K-State, busy with preparation. Emma in some playgroup
7th month - Nov,: Busy with K-State preparation
8th month - Dec.: Busy with K-State preparation and thinking if it is go or not
9th month - Jan. : Decided not going to K-State, L.A.'s potential job but failed, Emma's baby sitter searching, Emma's phone album project, Emma's morning and afternoon nap training
10th month - Feb: adjust to be back to work, mommy is no more afternoon nap

Emma had a fever
Well, Friday, just after the full day with babysitter, you had a fever when you got in the morning. And you had very hard time to have the bowl movement, which is the most difficult on so far. So you canceled today's babysitter. So that was the last Friday mommy in home to stay with you. Mommy will go back to work on Monday. The weather is good. So we spent a little bit time together on the lawn in our back yard to enjoy the sunshine. However you were not feeling good, so we only had about 10 minutes out. It was still very nice.
Mommy slept with you in the night. However when you got up in the morning, you still have fever. You had a little ADVIL fever relieve and looks better, and you are still happy and smile.

Emma's first full day with babysitter
Thursday was the first full day that Emma with babysitter. Your daddy dropped you there in the morning. You looks fine with Angela when Daddy was leaving. I was told you were cried some in the morning nap, and you only had 30 minutes sleep. Maybe Jacaba is too noisy. However you had an hour and forty five minutes in the afternoon nap! When mommy pick you up, you were on the floor playing the house. Well, you looks happy and had enough energy when you were home.

Emma finally got moving. You look like crawling with one hand keep moving, the other one is under your tummy. However you finally made your first moving without rolling. You looks more active and talky after you came from Angela's house. Maybe you learned something from other kids.

Emma's half days with babysitter
It was Monday (yesterday), Emma spent the morning time in Angela`s house. I was told you only had a little bit cry after mommy left. And Angela put you down for sleep at 9:45am, you only complained a little, then you fallen to sleep for about one and half hour! When mommy came to pick you up at 11:30am, you looks happy there.
This afternoon, mommy left you there from 12:00. Maybe you were hungry when we got there. So you looks not very calm. Mommy fed you lunch and watched you playing. Then mommy left quietly. Mommy was very worry about you after mommy got home. I don`t know if you will be able to have a good afternoon nap. Frankly speaking, I am still having the hard time to send you to the babysitter. Lilly called and she said she doesn't worry too much about babysitter. The house is just like missing something with you in home. Mommy was thinking about you all the afternoon. When mommy came to pick you up at 4:30pm, I saw you are sitting on the floor playing with the toys. There are 6 kids together. Angela told me you had more cry than in the morning but not constantly. The surprise is you didn't cry when she put you down at 2:10pm. And you woke up at 3:30pm. Kela ( 9 years girl) said you were happy and play with the toys when you came down. What a surprise! You were trying to cry when you saw me came in. When I hold you up, you were happy :) Well, although mommy want to keep you in home all the time, you did well than I am expecting!
Tomorrow, we will try afternoon again.

Emma's 2nd two hours with babysitter
Today is the second day for the two-hours try with babysitter.
We arrived on 8:20am. Mommy stayed with you for about 10 minutes and left quietly. When I opened the door, you almost saw me. So kept looking at the direction of the door for a while but no cry. When I watched you from the window. You were still looking at this direction. You must be thinking where is mommy going? Mommy kept standing there for about 5 minutes and you were playing with the toys and other girls. So mommy left.
At 10：00am, when mommy opened the door to pick you up. You didn't cry nor smile to me. Angela was holding and you were looking at me. She played peekaboo with you and you smiled. She said you only cried a little bit shortly after my left. Then you were doing fine. It is better than my thought!
You fallen into sleep soundly after sitting on the car.
We will see next week try. We will try half day and then whole day. The napping will be a challenge.

The frist time to put Emma down in the night when she is alert
Today is the first two hours try with babysitter. Emma looks very active after you got home. You even don't want to go to sleep in mommy's arm. So mommy put you down in the bed when you are awake and alert. You just make a little bit noise to complain, and then you hold your blanket and ready for sleep. Mommy left the room and closed door. You cried only two second and then stopped. It is hard believe! It is almost the first time mommy did this :)

We arrived in Angela's home at 8:30am. Mommy played with you over there about 10 minutes. And then mommy hided in the kitchen. You just played with those toys and didn't realized mommy's missing.
So mommy left the house quietly without letting you know, you were still playing there with other two girls ( two years old). Mommy stood at the outdoor and watched you playing for about 10 minutes. You were very curious on everything and kept watching other kids playing. Not sure what happened, you cried, so Angela tried to calm you down. Maybe a few minutes, you stopped crying, and then you kept playing. Mommy left at 9:00am.
Mommy went to pick you up at 10:00am, which is your nap time. I looked you over the window and you were looking at this way. Looks you had seen me. Mommy opened door and you looked at me for a few seconds and then you wanted to cry. Mommy hold you up and you stopped. Angela said you had a couple of short cries, which is better than what mommy expected.
You fallen sleep in the car and waked up when we go home. You looked very energetic and talky. I put you in the bed but you didn't want to sleep. You have a lot of new words bubbling since this morning, which is so cute and funny.

We made the 3rd visit in babysitter's house
Yesterday we went to babysitter's house in the lunch time to see how does the lunch work.
Today, we visited her in the late afternoon. The weather was so nice that Angela took all kids out of the door. They played in the back yard. Mommy put Emma in the baby swing. You loved to watching kids playing.
Tomorrow, mommy is going to let you stay there for two hours. Hope you will be doing okay. I know it is so hard to leave yourself with somebody else.

Emma is weaned
Emma was officially weaned from last night. With the milk supply reducing, you looks lost some interest in nursing. Mommy put you in the breast before you went to bed in the night, you just sucked a few minutes and then you turned around. So we stopped nursing last night and you looked very peaceful in mommy's arm and then you fallen in sleep. Mommy know that beautiful nursing experience is finishing soon.
Tonight, mommy gave you 120ml formula before you go to bed in the night and you finished shortly. Looks you accepted the formula as you didn't like the formula before. Mommy is very happy to see you like drinking the formula now :)

The first two hour in the babysitter's house - 2 weeks away from the returning day

There are only two weeks left before mommy go back to work!!!
Yesterday was a eastern Sunday with snow. It was still snowing this morning. There are about 7-9cm snow on the floor already.
Mommy and Daddy get up 6:40am this morning to start the practicing working day. I brought you to the babysitter house for about two hours. Mommy hide away about 15 minutes and you were doing fine with Angela. Isabelle (Angela's two years old girl) some time is jealous you when Angela play with you.
I plan to visit Angela Tuesday and Wednesday and I will stay with you. I will leave you there by your own on Thursday and Friday for two hours to see how you are doing. And next week, I will keep you half day and full day there. Hope you will be doing well. Mommy is very sad to leave for returning to the work :(

Emma understand a couple of words that we talk to her. We ask her clap hands, bye-bye, wa wa wa wa in Chinese and say peekaboo, she will take action accordingly. It is so much fun to see you are growing and getting communication stage!

Tomorrow is April 11th, 2009, which is the date mommy start the maternity leave. The time just runs too fast. There only two weeks left before mommy back to the work - the real adult world.
Well, it will be very hard to set up new routine and see you - Emma go to the babysitter. It must be very tough and sad for mommy. However just like everybody else, we will make it, right? The sprig is here and the beautiful summer is coming soon. Maybe you will like the new life style.

Emma got a cold
Emma got a cold a week ago with running nose and cough without fever. (Just running behind to post the message.) It is the almost the first time you had a real running nose and cough. Not sure where it comes from, maybe from the babysitter when we visited her for about two hours. It make mom very concern after you go to the babysitter or daycare in near future. Maybe you will have more sick time.
Mom slept with you for a couple of days while you were sick. Mom always love to see your sleeping. Acturally you still looked very happy even you had the cold. Fortunately, you got recovered in three days with the antibiotic medication. We are very happy for you.

The 1st day in the 12th month
Today is Emma's 1st day in your 12th month! Mom took some pictures for your as usually - taking pictures at the beginning date of every month! You dressed in a red skirt with a cute hat. You are just so beautiful!

The last day in your Eleventh Month
Emma, now is almost the last two hours in your eleventh month. You will start your 12th month very soon! Mom really want to have the time stopped as mom love to cuddle you like a baby and see your goog, yiyi, yaya. You will be reaching your one year old milestone soon. It is amazing to look at your photo album and see your change every day and every month from a new born to a almost toddler.
You are still not crawling yet, maybe you will skip the crawling and start walking instead. You do like walking around in the house with mom, dad or grandma's hold under your arm. You are not able to stand up or pull up by your own yet. I think you have a good memory and focus on details, a fast learner for eating and using cups. You like beautiful pictures, colors and music. You like a little bit quite environment. Sometime you are FA Dai looks you are thinking something. You are not very interested in the place full of children or noisy. You are a little bit behind developing in the mobility, but it is okay as every child is different.
Unfortunately mom will go back to work one week before your one year old birthday. There are about 26 days left that we can spend time together. Mom will value the every minutes with you in home :)

You are still not crawling yet, maybe you will skip the crawling and start walking instead. You do like walking around in the house with mom, dad or grandma's hold under your arm. You are not able to stand up or pull up by your own yet. I think you have a good memory and focus on details, a fast learner for eating and using cups. You like beautiful pictures, colors and music. You like a little bit quite environment. Sometime you are FA Dai looks you are thinking something. You are not very interested in the place full of children or noisy. You are a little bit behind developing in the mobility, but it is okay as every child is different.
Unfortunately mom will go back to work one week before your one year old birthday. There are about 26 days left that we can spend time together. Mom will value the every minutes with you in home :)

大便问题
EMMA的大便还是有问题，又干又硬，拉的时候很吃力，急的直哭。今天早上换尿布时，看到她在用力，看到巴巴即将出来了，又在哭，妈妈只好头一次上手帮了一把，小手指一扣，一块硬硬的小爸爸出来了。
请教了一下MOTHER BABY CLINIC， 可以加苹果汁，多吃西梅，暂停香蕉。

Emma's pictures
Emma's pictures haven't been printed since her 4th month. Mom has been keep downloading, uploading and organizing Emma's pictures every month. It kept mom busy but mom enjoyed it! Mom spent a couple of evening time to pick Emma's good pictures. Mom have printed more than two hundreds pictures, which is full of family's beautiful memories. I believe these pictures will encourage mom when mom in some bad days.
Yesterday, we also visited the baby sitter - Angela. Her daughter Isabelle with two years old looks like Emma. Emma still have strong interesting to watch everything around her.
The 8 weeks of Kindermusic is finished yesterday. General speaking, Emma likes it. However she is a special one during those babies. She is not interested in the toys but all the people, babies and environment around her. She is a good observer. I really want to know how this specialty will develop in Emma's future life.

一点感动
今天晚上喂完奶，把EMMA放上小床后，妈妈站在床前，静静地看了一会儿进入梦乡的小EMMA，那可爱的熟睡的样子，确实是对妈妈最好的安慰。听着这熟悉的睡眠曲子（已经有九或十个月了吧），从清凉的夏夜，到深秋的皓月，到寒冷的冬夜，妈妈每次坐在这个房间里给EMMA喂奶都有很多不同的心情。现在奶量已经逐渐减少了，EMMA也快要断奶了，妈妈不久也要上班去了，对将来的日子有很多期待，也有很多踌躇。面对着这熟悉的小屋，音乐和一天天长大的小人，心里突然有种说不出莫名的感动，为这段难忘的日日夜夜，也为自己。女人如果没有过孩子，是无论如何体会不到这种心情，这种感觉。

EMMA 会用吸管了！
昨天给EMMA买了吸管的杯子，她很喜欢这个新玩具，在手里翻来覆去玩了半天，本想有空的时候教她用吸管喝水，没想到，我晚饭还没吃完，EMMA已经从咬管子到喝到了水！她很ENJOY这个新鲜玩意，一下子喝了好多水！EMMA在吃的方面好有天分啊！

Emma like tummy down during the nap
Emma doesn't want to sleep in the sleeping bag while she is napping. She like tummy down or lay on one side instead of lay on back, which was her major sleep position before.
She plays in he crib and then falling into sleep with her tummy down, which looks so cute :)

We had our 2nd new car
After mom and dad's serious consideration, we bought our 2nd new car - Hyundai Sonata 2006, with 70,000km on it. It will make our new live a little easier after mom go back to work.
Lilli is such a nice person that she has been picked me up for almost 6 months for all kinds of baby activities. She always very helpful to all her friends. It is inconvenient with one car by handle the work and baby.
Anyway,today is the first time Mom doesn't need get up early to drive your dad to work and then drive you to the Kindermusic, and Mom can had the grocery shopping done without rush, and we can sit in home to wait your dad back :) It is nice to have the second car although it is expensive.

The "fight" with Emma on the change table
Emma still can not claw yet but she likes flip over and over. Now it is getting harder and harder to change her on the change table. She has strong will and wants to flip over. I have to find all kinds of new toys to entertain her for a few minutes and speed up the change diaper. Now thinks about the times when she was little, it was so easy to change her :)

The last day in your Tenth Month
Emma, right now is the last hour in your Tenth Month. You are going to enter your the eleventh month very soon! It is hard to believe the time flies so fast.
Mommy just put away some stuff for nursing use. When I clean the pump, I felt everything just like happened in yesterday. It was hard in the beginning to get the milk supply going. However, Mommy made it with great effort. Mommy is very proud for your weight gaining and you have been very healthy since you were born with the breastfeeding! Now it is time for you to be more independent. When I put the bottles rack and the two empty Funigreek bottles (for collecting the milk when nursing. Quick calculation: average 6 times a day x 8 months x 30 days = 1440 times usage. Mommy has been collecting the milk for almost eight months to storage some breast milk for your drink after the weaning), my feeling is mixed. I have so much memories while I nursing you during the day and night by holding these two bottles. Finally, Mommy took the picture for the bottle rack and the two bottles.

Emma is not crawling yet
Tomorrow is Emma's last day in the 10th month. You are still not crawling yet. However you like tummy time now and you can spend a quite bit time on the floor. I am not worrying too much. It is normal. Maybe you will learn to walk even quicker!
Your hard poop has been last for about 2-3 weeks. Today you had a big and softer one. Hope you will be getting better soon. Mom gave you a lot of prune juice to help it out.
Yesterday, you had your first Salmon and looks you like it! You also had your first Cottage Cheese this week. So far you like almost everything put into your mouth!
Okay, mommy will go to bed now. Kiss you :)

Emma is on weaning
Wow! The time is flying...... you are nine and half month old already and we don't have too much time to stay together all day long soon. Mommy will go back to work in another two months.
Mommy still remember how hard to nurse you in the very beginning. That intimacy is so special. Especially during the might night, only you and me that we snuggle together in the worm blanket. Mommy will gently touch your eyes, your nose, your hair and your little lip. Your smell is so sweet.
Now it is the time to wean you! Mommy still nurse you in the morning and evening and then you will have formula milk twice a day. It has been about a week. You looks great and never complain about it. You did grew up!
P.S.
Also, just a little information. You have not had your regular poop for a few days until last night. You had a three big but a little hard ones. However you were happy, eat and sleep well. Hope you will get better.

Emma goes to nap on her own!
Emma, this is the third day that I put you to nap on your own! I tried the afternoon naps first and the morning nap. What a surprise! I put you down and turned on the mobile. You looked at the mobile and smiled and then you tried to reach it. You did grow up. Your arm is much longer now and you almost touch it! I turned on the kids music and turn away quickly. I stayed at the door and looked you from the MEN FENG, You keep looking at the door and thinking, where is the mom? And then you pick up one of toys and start playing with it. You even didn't have any word of complain! Ten minutes later, I came back to carefully open the door to watch you, you are still playing there. Another 10 minutes, I come back again to see how you are doing. Oh my dear, you already fell in sleep. You looks so beautiful, relax and peaceful! I am so excited that finally you can go to nap on your own!

The last day and the last hour in Jan, 2009
Now is 23:20hrs, Jan 31, 2009. The time is flying. The Jan. is gone.
Today Dad reminded mom that yesterday was our the 8th Anniversary date. However Mom already forgot. I know the life changed so much with your arrival. It feels like Emma is all my life for now. I have forgotten this important date. We are so happy to have you - Emma after our seven years' marriage.
Today is the two years Anniversary date after we bought this house. We still can clearly remember how excited after we moved to the new home. Two years later, we got more excited to have you - Emma. You gave us and your grandma so much fun and happiness.
Okay, mom has to go to bed as you still can't sleep through the night yet. Mom has to be ready to get up during the night to look after you.

Emma's Happy Life Stories - The 1st professional Album
Mom finally finished the 1st professional album for you. The name is Emma's Happy Life Stories. Mom went through thousands of pictures took from your born to the ninth month old, and picked up some good ones and put them together to build a professional print album in the Shutterfly. I am so excited and can't wait to see the album. It will took about 10 days to arrive here. It will be a very nice gift for you. When you grow up and look at these pictures, you will love them! Your mom, dad and grandparents love you so much. All these pictures are the beautiful memories.

Emma slept through the night
Mom had cough and sore throat since Jan 11th. It was very difficult to control the cough while nursing EMMA especially during the night nursing. Jan.15th or Jan. 16th, Mom didn't feel well due to the cold so Mom had a little medicine. In the next day early morning around 6:00am, when I heard EMMA's voice from the monitor, I just realized that I didn't get up during the night! What a good baby. You knew your mom was sick so you let her had a good rest. And same amazing good sleep happened in the next day! Now it has been for a about 4 nights! I am so proud of you - EMMA. I have been looking forward to seeing you sleep through the night for almost 10 months! Hope you will continually doing better.
Mom is working on searching the babysitter in these days. It not easy for a parent to send out the young baby to an unfamiliar people. There will be so much trust in it. Now I can understand that why Quency and her husband can stay with their children till their older. I believe it is a fun time to see the baby grow up.
Today Emma looks like want to talk more and really aloud. With grandma and your mom and dad's love and care, Emma eats well, sleep well and play well. She is such a happy baby. We almost don't see her cranky time at all. Even the picky grandma said Emma is an easy baby :)
To be a parents, it is a great feeling that your baby is tie with you tightly. 人生中需要有你牵挂的人，也要被别人牵挂着。这是一种幸福。

2008年产假里最后4个月的生活
自从9月份爸爸得知去KANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY面试的消息后，后面的四个月喜忧各半，生活与思路一直处于矛盾之中。主要是TN的不确定性，妈妈的发展问题，这四个月以来，妈妈在家里与小EMMA的日子也过得不是很安定。几乎时时都在考虑这事情的得与失。但是始终没有答案，也没有人能说得清，要成功总有风险，有风险不意味着一定能成功。趁今天妈妈没午睡，简单说说和小EMMA的每日例行生活留个纪念。
9月份正是小EMMA进入第五个月，晚上睡觉好多了，起来一次基本就可以，所以我的状态也恢复了不少。
早晨7：30AM -8：00AM，MONITOR 里有了动静，EMMA 睡醒后在床上玩玩自己的小手，哼哼唧唧开始了一天的生活，她也不哭不闹，真是心疼妈妈，让妈妈多睡一小会。
8：15AM 左右，走进小EMMA房间，EMMA一见我立即又舞小手又高兴地笑着，妈妈先给EMMA问好，晚上睡得好吗？然后在红扑扑的小脸蛋上亲一下，接下来给小EMMA喂奶，她每次都食欲巨佳，张着大嘴扑上来就呼哧呼哧得吃得很香，然后她通常在吃完一边奶后会拉巴巴，然后给她换下一个晚上重重的尿布，再继续喂另一边奶。当她吃饱后会心满意足地转抬起头朝我笑笑，然后我就把她抱起来拍拍咯，唱个小曲給她听。早晨的EMMA心情好，充满好奇心，东看西看，这个房间怎么也看不够。
9：15AM 左右，把EMMA放回小床，打开床上的小音乐盒，她会看着转动的小熊呵呵地笑。然后拿2个小毛毛玩具给她，再打开CD的儿歌，这样妈妈就可以离开一会儿了.EMMA表现很好，看着我出门，然后盯着门口等一会儿，还不见妈妈回来就自己玩玩具了。多乖的女儿呀！
9：30AM, 妈妈开始洗漱整理房间吃早饭
10：00AM左右，妈妈或姥姥上去给EMMA穿衣开始一天的生活。第六个月开始固体后，这是吃早餐的时间。EMMA胃口很好，吃饭也乖，又快又好。
10：30AM: EMMA的娱乐时间，有时妈妈姥姥陪着玩，有时自娱自乐。妈妈利用这段时间赶紧研究美国的搬家问题。积极与各方联系，银行，搬家公司，卖方事宜，各项政策，心里象上了弦一样，总想抓紧时间做好一切的准备，尽可能为搬家或做最终决定打好铺垫，这段时间心里却是象长了茅草，和小EMMA玩也是心事重重。
11:30AM: 喂奶，EMMA通常小睡一会儿，有时姥姥抱着睡会儿。
13：00 : 妈妈和姥姥吃饭，EMMA自己玩玩或看着我们吃饭
13：30 -14：00： 给EMMA换尿布，妈妈和EMMA一起睡午觉，这是妈妈最珍爱的一段时光，看着身边EMMA熟睡的可人样子，真想在家里陪伴她。长长黑黑的睫毛，翘翘的小鼻子，粉扑扑的小脸蛋，红润的小嘴，轻轻的呼吸，我怎么看也看不够。然后脑海中还是不断的想着搬家的事情，然后妈妈就昏昏地睡着了。
15：00： 心里有时，不能睡得太踏实，妈妈蹑手蹑脚地起床，然后还是上网或差资料，联系一些事情，这段时间得亏有姥姥在，真是帮了不少忙，否则做饭还是很花时间的。
16：30: EMMA醒来，赶快上去喂奶，有时又拉一次巴巴，EMMA喜欢在吃奶时拉巴巴，也许是比较放松吧。吃好奶，换好尿布，抱着EMMA读书，EMMA很喜欢看书也喜欢啃书，很快就会翻页，很重的书，她也抱得动。
17：15-17：30： 爸爸回来了，
18：00： 大人们吃饭
18：30： EMMA吃饭
19：30： EMMA洗澡
20：00-20：30： 妈妈抱着EMMA读个小故事，喂奶，哄睡觉
21：00： 妈妈可以暂时有点自己的时间了，和爸爸不停地商议搬家的事情，丝毫不敢怠慢。
23：00： 爸爸妈妈睡觉，床头不停地反复考虑美国工作的事情
02：00 -03：00： MONITOR里传出EMMA哼唧的声音，妈妈迷迷糊糊地起床喂奶，看着怀里熟睡的宝宝，心里经常在权衡搬家的事情。有时在想现在为什么这么优柔寡断，从前的魄力都到哪去了呢？人在选择面前会这么困难吗？
好了，宝宝午睡醒来了，妈妈得赶紧上去看你了，就写到这里吧。

8：15AM 左右，走进小EMMA房间，EMMA一见我立即又舞小手又高兴地笑着，妈妈先给EMMA问好，晚上睡得好吗？然后在红扑扑的小脸蛋上亲一下，接下来给小EMMA喂奶，她每次都食欲巨佳，张着大嘴扑上来就呼哧呼哧得吃得很香，然后她通常在吃完一边奶后会拉巴巴，然后给她换下一个晚上重重的尿布，再继续喂另一边奶。当她吃饱后会心满意足地转抬起头朝我笑笑，然后我就把她抱起来拍拍咯，唱个小曲給她听。早晨的EMMA心情好，充满好奇心，东看西看，这个房间怎么也看不够。
9：15AM 左右，把EMMA放回小床，打开床上的小音乐盒，她会看着转动的小熊呵呵地笑。然后拿2个小毛毛玩具给她，再打开CD的儿歌，这样妈妈就可以离开一会儿了.EMMA表现很好，看着我出门，然后盯着门口等一会儿，还不见妈妈回来就自己玩玩具了。多乖的女儿呀！
9：30AM, 妈妈开始洗漱整理房间吃早饭
10：00AM左右，妈妈或姥姥上去给EMMA穿衣开始一天的生活。第六个月开始固体后，这是吃早餐的时间。EMMA胃口很好，吃饭也乖，又快又好。
10：30AM: EMMA的娱乐时间，有时妈妈姥姥陪着玩，有时自娱自乐。妈妈利用这段时间赶紧研究美国的搬家问题。积极与各方联系，银行，搬家公司，卖方事宜，各项政策，心里象上了弦一样，总想抓紧时间做好一切的准备，尽可能为搬家或做最终决定打好铺垫，这段时间心里却是象长了茅草，和小EMMA玩也是心事重重。
11:30AM: 喂奶，EMMA通常小睡一会儿，有时姥姥抱着睡会儿。
13：00 : 妈妈和姥姥吃饭，EMMA自己玩玩或看着我们吃饭
13：30 -14：00： 给EMMA换尿布，妈妈和EMMA一起睡午觉，这是妈妈最珍爱的一段时光，看着身边EMMA熟睡的可人样子，真想在家里陪伴她。长长黑黑的睫毛，翘翘的小鼻子，粉扑扑的小脸蛋，红润的小嘴，轻轻的呼吸，我怎么看也看不够。然后脑海中还是不断的想着搬家的事情，然后妈妈就昏昏地睡着了。
15：00： 心里有时，不能睡得太踏实，妈妈蹑手蹑脚地起床，然后还是上网或差资料，联系一些事情，这段时间得亏有姥姥在，真是帮了不少忙，否则做饭还是很花时间的。
16：30: EMMA醒来，赶快上去喂奶，有时又拉一次巴巴，EMMA喜欢在吃奶时拉巴巴，也许是比较放松吧。吃好奶，换好尿布，抱着EMMA读书，EMMA很喜欢看书也喜欢啃书，很快就会翻页，很重的书，她也抱得动。
17：15-17：30： 爸爸回来了，
18：00： 大人们吃饭
18：30： EMMA吃饭
19：30： EMMA洗澡
20：00-20：30： 妈妈抱着EMMA读个小故事，喂奶，哄睡觉
21：00： 妈妈可以暂时有点自己的时间了，和爸爸不停地商议搬家的事情，丝毫不敢怠慢。
23：00： 爸爸妈妈睡觉，床头不停地反复考虑美国工作的事情
02：00 -03：00： MONITOR里传出EMMA哼唧的声音，妈妈迷迷糊糊地起床喂奶，看着怀里熟睡的宝宝，心里经常在权衡搬家的事情。有时在想现在为什么这么优柔寡断，从前的魄力都到哪去了呢？人在选择面前会这么困难吗？
好了，宝宝午睡醒来了，妈妈得赶紧上去看你了，就写到这里吧。

2009年里我们的第一个决定
2009年1月7日下午2点15分，爸爸和妈妈经过四个月的前思后想，反复斟酌，我们决定爸爸放弃这个去美国工作的机会。我知道爸爸心里一定有遗憾，这是他等待了很久的一个契机。但是由于考虑到家庭的稳定性，TN从长远看存在的风险，我们决定先以在加拿大发展为主。只要爸爸妈妈一起继续不懈努力，相信更合适的机会一定会出现。唯一的问题是可能要委屈小EMMA你了，过了产假，也许妈妈不能亲自日夜陪伴你更长的时间了。希望我们能有两全其美的办法把你好好地安置。
既然这是我们的最终决定，我们就不能再后悔什么。我相信什么样的生活取决于什么样的生活态度。我知道接下来的日子里我们会有不满意，工作的繁忙与兼顾家庭的矛盾，也许会有新的郁闷，但是所有的这些困难都是常人所需面对的，我们既然决定留在这里做能驾驭生活的人，就一定会克服这些困难给小EMMA一个幸福快乐的童年时光，同时也给我们自己一小段平静的时光，已备来日再战。
